Welcome to Religious Studies

Welcome to the Religious Studies department. We are a very small department within the Humanities department who primarily offer and deliver Religious Studies at GCSE level to Key Stage 4 students. The lessons taught are well planned, engaging and aim to make links between religion and its place in today’s world.

Overview for Religious Studies at Key Stage 4

In Key Stage 4 students study AQA Religious Studies Specification A. This course is based around the study of religious beliefs and practices as well as moral issues. The course is assessed by 2 examinations at the end of the course.

Religious Studies is a 2 year course covering the following topics:

  • Christianity; Beliefs, teachings and practice
  • Judaism; Beliefs, teachings and practice
  • Religion and life
  • The existence of God and revelation
  • Religion, crime and punishment
  • Religion, peace and conflict
