Following the completion of my BSc in Environmental Science, I began my teaching career in 2017 where I gained my PGCE in Geography at Sheffield Hallam University. I began teaching at Outwood Academy Shafton in 2018 where I taught Geography, History and delivered the Life curriculum to a mix of year 7, 8 and KS4. During this year I began to volunteer with Deep Learning where I focused on praise and reward, and was appointed Developing Leader shortly after.
As Associate Assistant Principal, my main role is the leadership of the ITT (trainee teacher) programme, as well as leading on praise and reward across the academy. Further to this, as part of the Deep Learning team, we are planning and delivering academy wide and bespoke training to further improve teaching and collaborative learning.
This year I am also beginning a Masters Degree in Digital Media in Education at the University of Manchester, which will allow me to embed new technologies and digital learning into the curriculum to both improve teaching and learning through the use of digital media, but also expose pupils to new technology to aid their learning.
