Mon 02 Jun 2025
New York - Photography and Art
21st - 25th January 2027

Dear Parent/Carer,

We are excited to launch the school’s first trip to New York. This will be in January 2027, the purpose of launching the trip now is to give ample time for parents/ guardians to pay for the trip to give students the best chance of going on the trip.

The cost of the trip will be priced at £1860 this will include the list below -

  • Airport transfers in the UK and New York
  • OMNY Transport card
  • Quality Boxed Breakfast
  • 3 evening meals, such as Hard Rock cafe and Planet Hollywood
  • Top of the Rock
  • Broadway show
  • 911 Memorial museum entrance
  • Liberty Ferry tickets
  • MOMA/ Natural history museum
  • Travel Insurance
  • Local Tourist Tax
  • 23kg Checked in bag
  • Other activities whilst on the trip

Students will need an ESTA to enter the USA. This is an estimated £16.

For your child to reserve a place on this trip they must have an excellent record of discipline and attendance within the Academy. Should your son/daughter’s behaviour deteriorate over the next academic year (June 2025- January 2027) this may result in your child losing his/her place and any money paid up to that point.

Your child will need a full passport (in their own name) to be valid for a minimum of a full 6 months on the date of our return from New York. There will be no collective passports on this trip. Students will also need to possess a Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC), this can be done online free of charge.

There are 35 places on this trip and initially will be offered to those students in Y7 & Y8 at the Academy. The places will be allocated on a first come - first served basis, but should demand be great we will arrange a reserve list.

To secure a place for your son/daughter a non-refundable First Deposit of £250 will need to be paid no later than Monday 14th July 2025 together with the consent form included at the back of this letter. Once your letter has been received you will be added to the trip on iPay (New York 2027) where the deposit can be paid.  Please see table below for more information relating to payment dates and amounts.

We work hard to try and get the best price possible from the tour operator without compromising on the experience. The price does include contingency money for any price increases for flights and hotel rates. However, there may be some changes closer to the date for the trip and the price may come down.

Payment | Amount | Due Date
1st deposit | £250 | 14th July 2025
2nd Deposit | £250 | 22nd September 2025
Remaining Balance | £1360 | 28th September 2026

Total | £1860 |

Payments can be made at any time before the deadline however deposit payments have to be made on time. If not this could result in the place being lost.

If you withdraw your child from this trip all monies paid will be lost up to the point of withdrawal unless there is another student on the reserve list willing to take their place. If we cannot find another student wishing to travel, then any monies paid up to the date of withdrawal can only be claimed back through the travel insurance company, providing there is a valid medical reason supported by a doctor’s certificate. However, even then you will not be able to claim the full amount back as there is always a levy charged on any insurance claim.

Please complete the reply slip overleaf along with the parental consent form – please complete this on all sides and return as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully
