Outwood Grange Academies Trust is delighted to announce that on Wednesday 2nd July 2025 students from across the Family of Schools will be taking part in our Student Voice Conference, which this year celebrates the 15 years since the Trust was founded. There will be an opportunity for EVERY secondary phase student in the Trust to be part of the celebrations, whether that be as a representative for their academy or as part of the activities taking place in schools.
At our last Student Voice Conference in November 2024, students asked leaders to work on developing a curriculum that supported them in ‘Finding their Future’. Students chose this theme because it is something that really matters to them and at the July 2025 conference students will find out more about how the Trust has responded to their voice. We are very excited to announce that Jake Humphries of High Performance Foundation will share some key messages with conference delegates and all students across the Trust will be able to hear about the collaboration between Outwood Grange Academies Trust and High Performance Foundation. To find out more about High Performance please follow this link https://www.highperformancefoundation.org
The following Trust staff will be leading activities throughout the day:
Lee Wilson, Chief Executive Officer for Outwood Grange Academies Trust
Julie Slater, Chief Executive Principal, Outwood Institute Education
Carolyn Blundell, Community Executive Principal and Trust lead for Personal Development
Sabiha Laher, Community Executive Principal and Trust lead for Careers and Post 16
Natalie Parkin, Trust Director of Religious Education
Laura Knitter, Trust Strategic Lead for Attendance
And there will be a ‘keynote’ speech from Callum Hall who is a Team England athlete and para athlete debuting at the Commonwealth Games. Alongside Callum, Jamie Carter video producer will be working with students to video record the events of the day as they unfold. Jamie has worked with Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Oasis, Bruno Mars, Jax Jones and Kylie Minogue.
Ideas and feedback from students at the conference will then be shared with secondary academy Principals who will consider how their students’ voices can influence academy life in the next academic year.
Finally, we would like to include our parents and carers in the Student Voice Conference by encouraging you to talk to your children about the activities they have participated in in school. We are very much looking forward to hosting these ‘Outwood is 15’ celebrations, as it will be a brilliant opportunity to mark the journey of the Trust and look towards how students will help us shape the next 15 years.
