Letter to Y11 Parents and Carers: Y11 Success Evening

Dear Parent/Carer

We would like to invite your child and his/her family to our Year 11 Success Evening which will enable us to help you to support your child through the final year of his/her GCSE courses. This event will take place on Wednesday 17th September 5:00pm to 6:30pm; the evening will be split into two sessions. Firstly we will be serving food – Pie and Peas – as we are aware many of you may be coming straight from work. This will be followed by a presentation led by Mrs McQueen – Academy Principal; with contributions from other key staff who will be supporting your child throughout Year 11. 

If you do not wish to have food and want to arrive a little later, we will look to start the presentation at 5:30pm.

The presentation will cover the following topics:

The evening has been specifically designed for the parents/carers of all Year 11 students. There will be  representatives from subject areas who will be able to give guidance and provide information about how to support, encourage and monitor your child’s progress throughout their courses. We are also hoping to hand out the revision packages which the Local Authority are giving to all Y11 students across the borough at this event, depending on delivery.

By holding this evening we aim to ensure that your child has the best preparation possible so that he/she can achieve or surpass his/her target grade.
