Letter to Parents and Carers: End of Term

Fri 19 Dec 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,

As we break for Christmas, I wanted to write and thank you for your continued support over this last term.

Your children have shown amazing resilience and determination to succeed. We've seen a truly positive culture shift, with students consistently going above and beyond in their efforts and demonstrating Random Acts of Kindness towards one another. It is a privilege to work here and witness their progress, hearing them passionately discuss their learning, attendance, and aspirations.

You will have seen on our Bluesky and Facebook accounts that we continue to celebrate student success both in and out of school; our #ProudThursday posts are an absolute joy to see!

This term has been full of incredible moments to celebrate, and it has been a pleasure to welcome our community into the academy. Highlights include:

  • Our popular Senior Citizens Christmas Lunch.
  • The fantastic Shafton’s Got Talent event.
  • Year 7's brilliant start to their secondary journey through the ACE Programme.
  • Praising Stars celebrations held this week, which showcased the results of hard work.
  • Our festive Christmas dinner day and Christmas jumper day bringing our whole school community together.

Looking ahead, we will be moving to our new school day in the new year. This is an exciting time for the academy as we enhance our personal development offer, ensuring students leave us ready to be global citizens. Information about this change has already been shared with you.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support. I wish you and your family a safe and peaceful Christmas.

Yours faithfully,

Alison McQueen
Principal
