Letter to Parents and Carers: Fundraising February

Tue 10 Feb 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,

We are writing to invite you to support an important fundraising project that helps to ensure that every student within Outwood Grange Academies Trust has the opportunity to participate in the Outwood Out There project.

Funds raised will directly support students in developing essential personal skills while making a real difference in some of our most disadvantaged neighbourhoods. Outwood Out There offers young people a structured, enriching experience that goes beyond the classroom, enabling them to engage meaningfully with their communities.

For many students, participation in this project provides valuable cultural capital and access to opportunities they might not otherwise experience. Alongside the prize bank, the programme helps students build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills, empowering them to become agents of change within their own communities.

Your fundraising support is truly life-changing. Every pound raised translates into a tangible opportunity for a young person to step out of the classroom and take positive, visible action in their local area. Students learn vital skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication not by reading about them, but by strengthening community bonds one project at a time. This Trust wide programme empowers pupils aged 5-18 to design and deliver their own community volunteering projects outside the classroom. Teams tackle real-world local issues

Together, by supporting Outwood Out There, we are putting students first and transforming communities.

This week our Student Voice Charity Committee will be organising different events including bake sales, fundraising stalls, lunchtime karaoke and competitions- students are encouraged to bring small change to take part in each of the stalls. Details of the events and contributions towards sweets, buns and activities have been shared in PD&G time and will be on year group notice boards.

Thank you for helping us ensure that every student who aspires to make a difference has the resources to do so.

Fundraising February is here!

Yours faithfully,

Sarah Riley
