Letter to Parents and Carers: Uniform Expectations - Hair Colour

Fri 13 Feb 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,

Our Uniform Policy is essential to maintaining the high standards and clear expectations we set for all of our students at the academy .I am writing to you today to ask for your support in upholding the policy regarding hair colour. We are currently addressing this with some students who have added unnatural colours to their hair.

As a reminder, our policy is explicit: “Hairstyles should be a natural colour.

We understand that half term is an opportunity for personal choice, however, we must ensure all students return ready for learning and compliant with academy standards. I would therefore ask that if your child currently has an unnaturally coloured hairstyle (e.g., bright red, pink, purple, blue or green), this is rectified over the half term break.

This will ensure your child returns to school on Monday 23 February with hair that is in line with the academy policy. Your prompt action will help us avoid conversations about uniform inconsistencies and focus entirely on your child's learning and progress.

Thank you in advance for your support on this matter.

Yours faithfully,

Alison McQueen
Principal
