Letter to Y7 Parents and Carers: ACE Programme

Tue 21 Apr 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,

We are writing to celebrate your child's journey in the ACE (Academy Conduct & Expectations) Programme at Outwood Academy Shafton. The Summer term is vital for consolidating learning and preparing for Year 8.

The core mission of the ACE Programme is to prepare our students for success at Outwood and to instill the moral character necessary for a happy and fulfilling life, grounded in our principles: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible

This academic year will end with our first Year 7 into Year 8 ACE Programme graduation, celebrating their hard work and marking the exciting beginning of their ‘ACE Elevate’ journey.

Graduation levels will be determined by ACE passport achievement, positive behaviour, and positive attendance. The specific criteria for the 'ACE Elevate Ready’ award will be shared with students in assembly this week:

  • ACE Elevate Ready Platinum: Typically E1 student with Gold ACE, positive behaviour, and attendance.
  • ACE Elevate Ready Gold: Gold ACE passport achieved with positive behaviour and attendance.
  • ACE Elevate Ready Silver: Silver ACE passport achieved with positive behaviour and attendance.
  • ACE Elevate Ready Bronze: Bronze ACE passport achieved with positive behaviour and attendance.

We want every student to succeed. Those needing support will receive additional monitoring and intervention. However, students who do not meet the criteria will not receive the ‘ACE Elevate Ready’ award with their peers.

We look forward to inviting you to this special graduation event in July (details to follow).

Thank you for supporting your child. Please contact Mrs Riley at s.riley@shafton.outwood.com or Miss Wooller at s.wooller@shafton.outwood.com if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Riley
Assistant Principal
