Letter to Parents and Carers: September Return - Trousers

Dear Parents and Carers, 

I wrote to you on Wednesday 8 July 2026 in relation to uniform and equipment requirements in readiness for our return in September.

You will know that in recent years, a significant number of branded uniform items have been dropped from our uniform policy. This forms part of a wider initiative to improve inclusivity, comfort and affordability for families across our Trust. You will also know that we shared a letter on 1 July 2026 advising you about the potential removal of skirts from our uniform policy with effect from September 2027 meaning that all students would be required to wear tailored school trousers regardless of gender. These changes support equality and inclusiveness while also being more practical for daily school activities.

Currently, the majority of our students opt to wear trousers given their more practical nature for school. We have welcomed this but I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your support in ensuring that trousers are in line with school policy.

During the warmer days where students removed blazers it became apparent that many female students have started to wear flared lycra leggings rather than tailored trousers.  As this was later in the academic year we have waited to give parents time to address this for September.

As we start the academic year we want our conversations with students to be around their learning rather than uniforms.  In choosing to send your children to our school you have committed to follow the policies and we need your support to ensure they are now followed in respect to trousers.

Trousers

Students entering the site must be wearing trousers that adhere to the uniform policy.
