Letter to Parents and Carers: Visiting the Academy

Mon 20 Jul 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to remind you of our school procedures in relation to visitor access and meetings at the academy.

Reception

Our reception for the building is near the car park gate. This is clearly signposted. We no longer provide access to the academy from the front of the school reception area in order to increase student safety.

  • Reception Opening Times for Parents/Carers/Visitors: Our reception will be staffed for calls and to receive pre-booked visitors Monday - Friday,  from 08:30  - 15:30 (term time only).

  • Meetings at the Academy: To ensure minimal disruption to learning, staff will only be able to meet with parents or carers if a meeting has been pre-arranged. Please do not arrive early for meetings with staff as we do not have a waiting area and you may be asked to wait outside of the building until it is time for your meeting.  This means that visits are organised, staff are prepared and have planned the necessary time for the meeting to be successful.

If parents or carers arrive on site without an appointment, unless this is a safeguarding emergency, access to the academy will not be given. You will be asked for your contact information so that this can be shared with the colleague that you wanted to speak to, who will make contact with you as soon as they are able to. We encourage you to contact the academy by email to schedule an appointment. You can access our key contact information, including safeguarding contacts, here. Please note that this will be updated in September to reflect the changes in our Learning Manager team.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement these changes to ensure a safe and effective learning environment for all.

Yours faithfully,
Alison McQueen
Principal
