Letter to Year 7 Parents and Carers: ACE Programme

Fri 11 Sep 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,

Our Academy Conduct Expectations (ACE) programme is designed to support Year 7 students as they settle into Outwood Academy Shafton. The programme helps students build strong character and align with our core values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Extraordinary.

Key Information:

  • Expectations: Students take part in 12 ACE lessons over five modules during their first half-term to learn what it means to be an excellent student.
  • Signature Process: To demonstrate progress, students must collect signatures in their ACE Passports from SLT, Mentors, and Year 7 enrichment leaders when displaying positive behaviors in lessons or around the academy.
  • Rewards & Deadline: Students who obtain at least 20 out of 25 signatures by Wednesday 9th December will be invited to the ACE Celebration and awarded a Bronze ACE lapel pin to wear on their blazer. Passports must be shown to their Mentor by this date.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact a.lyons@shafton.outwood.com.

Yours sincerely,
