Dear Parents and Carers,

We are very happy to welcome your child to Outwood Academy Shafton this school year. To help you support your child in secondary school, we would like to invite you to our Year 7 Information Evening on Monday 28 September 2026, from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. We invite you to join us from 4:30pm for pie and peas before the presentations begin. Please complete this Google Form to let us know if you will join us for food.

  • Attendance: Our expectations, how to report absences, and why attending school every day helps students succeed.
  • Teaching and Learning: What students will study and how we help them learn effectively in class.
  • Academy Conduct and Expectations (ACE) Programme: A programme created to help Year 7 students settle into Outwood Academy Shafton. It helps students follow our main values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Extraordinary.
  • Behaviour and Rewards: Our high standards for behaviour and how we celebrate student success.
  • Praising Stars Reports: How we track learning progress and how to read the regular reports sent home during the year.

Members of our senior leadership, SEND and attendance teams will be there to introduce themselves and answer your questions.
 
We look forward to working with you over the next five years and hope to see you on Monday 28 September.
