Launching Our New ‘Under the Weather’ Support Form
Dear Parents and Carers,
We know that deciding whether to send your child to school when they wake up feeling a bit unwell can sometimes be a difficult call. For secondary school students, missing a day of learning can mean falling behind, yet as parents, you naturally want to make sure they are comfortable and looked after.
To help support both you and your child, we are pleased to launch our new ‘Under the Weather’ Form.
How It Works
This form is designed for those days when your child has mild symptoms, for example, feeling slightly nauseous (without actually being sick), having a minor headache, or feeling generally tired or run down - but is otherwise fit enough to attempt the school day.
- Complete the Form: Fill out the quick online form before the start of the school day, letting us know what symptoms your child is experiencing.
- Send Your Child to School: Encourage your child to come in as normal.
- We Keep an Eye on Them: Our team will be notified immediately. We will check in on your child discreetly throughout the day and make sure staff are aware they may need a little extra care.
- We Update You: If their symptoms worsen or if we have any concerns, we will give you a phone call during the day to discuss the next steps.
Where to Find the Form
You can access and complete the form in two convenient ways:
Our goal is to work together with families to build resilience, maintain strong attendance, and ensure every student feels supported when they aren't feeling 100%.
Please note that if your child has severe symptoms, a high fever, or has been physically sick, our standard absence and medical guidelines still apply, and they should remain at home.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs L Holmes
