Dear Parent/Carer
Y11 After School Enrichment – 2:30 – 3:30pm
I am writing to formally invite your son/daughter to our after school enrichment sessions every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and to ask for your support in encouraging them to attend these sessions weekly up until the end of this academic year.
One of the most helpful ways for students to achieve or increase their grade in all subjects is by attending after school enrichment every day after school. These sessions will run between 2:30 and 3:30pm. This gives students an extra hour with a subject specialist to work on past examination questions, problem solving questions and techniques as well as to consolidate their existing learning.
Previous data shows that all students, regardless of current levels and grades, benefit from attending these targeted sessions. Each group is relatively small so the support offered can be even more beneficial. The groups are also very targeted so will have a specific focus, for example raising grades from 4 to 5, or achieving a grade 8. There will be something for everyone!
The subject days are as follows:
- Monday: English
- Wednesday: Science
- Thursday: Maths
- Friday: All other option subjects
Due to the benefits of these sessions your child’s attendance is expected every week and all students will be encouraged to attend by Ms McQueen, Mr Turner and the Senior Leadership Team.
Your support as always is greatly appreciated and I am sure you will encourage your child to attend and be the best they possibly can be.
