Dear Parent/Carer,

Student Voice Conference - Tuesday 13 December 2022

Outwood Grange Academies Trust are delighted to announce that this year’s Student Voice Conference will focus on ‘Climate Change and Sustainability’. As a Trust, this is something which we take very seriously. The Conference will provide an opportunity for students to contribute to the development of the Trust’s Climate Change and Sustainability Strategy. The Conference is being sponsored by Leeds United Foundation and will be held at Elland Road, Leeds on Tuesday 13 December 2022 from 9:30am to 3pm. All students have had the opportunity to take part in the build up to the Conference via virtual Tutor Time activities and will be involved in further activities after the event. A handful of students in each academy have been selected to represent their school.

The conference will include presentations from Patrick Bamford, Leeds United and England striker; Councillor David Jones and Mrs Annette Jones, Mayor and Mayoress of Wakefield; Toheed Khan, Member of Youth Parliament; Amanda Maycock, an Associate Professor from the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds; as well as Sir Martyn Oliver, Chief Executive of Outwood Grange Academies Trust. The students will be involved in many activities throughout the day to help to steer the development of the Trust’s Climate Change and Sustainability Strategy.

Please look out for updates throughout the day on the OGAT Trust Twitter account (@OGATrust). Updates will be posted regularly.

Yours faithfully,

Alison McQueen
