Letter to Parents: February Half Term

Fri 10 Feb 2023
Dear Parents & Carers,

As the first half term of 2023 draws to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.

We have had a busy start to the New Year which has seen an incredible programme of personal development opportunities for students with workshops and assemblies with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, The Self Esteem Team and DePaul UK; the expertise, advice and guidance from our agency partners has been phenomenal.

We were overwhelmed with the number of Year 11 families that joined us for our recent Revision Festival and it was great to see staff and families having those important conversations around revision techniques, materials and advice.

We continue to celebrate student success and look forward each week to discovering our Learning Stars and seeing Proud Thursday work showcased in the academy and for our wider community on social media.

We notified you of some changes to the academy uniform which came into effect from 3 January 2023; to minimise any confusion and unnecessary costs, skirts must not be made from stretchy, jersey material, i.e. t-shirt material. Thank you for supporting us with these changes.

Many thanks for your ongoing support; I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a safe and peaceful half term break and we look forward to welcoming students back on Monday 20 February 2023.

Yours faithfully,

Alison McQueen
