Year 9 Step In

Thu 30 Nov 2023
Dear Parents and Carers,

We are really pleased to write to you to share information about the next stage in your child’s Year 9 journey.

After Christmas and running on through to the summer term, Year 9 will start to focus on their Guided Pathways (formally known as option subjects) and the culmination of their Key Stage 3 journey, graduation!

To prepare students for this exciting journey, and to create a buzz around ‘Being Extraordinary’ we have created three stages to Y9. The first stage, which has been shared with students this week in an assembly, is called ‘Step In’.

All Year 9 students have been given the opportunity to complete a Year 9 ‘Step In’ Passport. This includes a review of their subjects to include/with target setting and some challenges linked to our ethos of being safe, respectful, responsible and extraordinary. Students can also collect praise comments, stamps and signatures. Your child will be able to bring this home to share with you their successes and, once completed, be recognised for their ‘Step In’ success by the Year 9 team.  Every student who successfully completes the passport will be able to enter a prize draw before Christmas!

We are very proud to be responsible for Y9 and excited for the journey the students have ahead this year. Further details regarding guided pathways and Y9 graduation will be shared after Christmas.

We thank you in advance for supporting your child in completing their ‘Step In’ passport and look forward to communicating their successes with you.

Yours sincerely,
