Dear Parents/Carers,

Arrangements following a positive Lateral Flow Test conducted in school

You may have seen in the press over the past few days that arrangements following a positive Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test have now been clarified.  The Department for Education has confirmed that should your child receive a positive test result following a test conducted at school, they should NOT undertake a confirmatory lab-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test and that they MUST complete 10 days of self-isolation.

Following the first 3 in-school LFD tests, your child begins home testing.  If these tests give a positive result then you should arrange for a PCR test to confirm the result.

If you have any questions, please contact the school using the ‘Contact Us’ button on the school website, https://www.shafton.outwood.com/

Yours faithfully,
