Letter to Parents and Carers: Warm Weather

Wed 30 Apr 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,

We are aware that the weather is predicted to be unseasonably warm today and tomorrow and the forecast predicts that temperatures are then set to fall on Friday.

As it currently remains cool in the morning, students will be expected to attend the academy in their blazer and we will make a daily decision this week on whether we will remove blazers throughout the day depending on the temperature in the building.

Temperatures are set to return to monthly averages week commencing 5 May and we will continue to monitor, as always, the temperature throughout the Summer season.

If we do make the decision to remove blazers, the length of skirts is highlighted as an obvious issue. The rolling over of skirts and the tying up of skirts at the back and the side, in some instances, is still causing us concerns.  To support this please remind your children that skirts must always be worn at an appropriate length (to the knee or just above the knee).

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Yours faithfully,
Alison McQueen
