Dear Parents and Carers,
As we continue with our preparations for September 2025, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of our expectations around PE uniform:
All students must wear the following required PE Uniform
- School Purple polo top
- Purple/black Outwood games jersey
- Black plain shorts/skort (not hot pant style)
- Plain black knee length games socks
- Trainers - Non-marking sole with a good grip and with laces/velcro, providing support to ankle & foot
Please note that pumps do not provide adequate support for the foot or ankle.
We also strongly recommend:
- Gum shield - for rugby/hockey
- Shin pads - for football/hockey
Optional PE Uniform:
- Football boots
- Plain black tracksuit (no logos) or midlayer top
- School tracksuit bottoms or plain black tracksuit bottoms
- 3/4 zip fleece
- Non see-through plain black leggings
- Black plain skort
- Plain white long sleeved t-shirt may be worn in place of the school purple polo top for religious or health reasons
As per our
Uniform Policy, students must change back into their full uniform before leaving site at the end of the day, unless they are staying for an after school enrichment that requires them to remain in their practical attire.
Students are expected to bring their full PE kit to every lesson. We understand that on rare occasions, there may be an unavoidable reason for a student not to have their full kit. In such instances, students must inform their PE teacher at the beginning of the lesson, providing a valid reason. We encourage open communication to resolve any issues.
Forgotten Kit?
Here's how we'll handle forgotten kits:
-
First time: A friendly warning.
-
Second time: We'll send a text home to work together with parents to help overcome any reasons for not having the kit.
-
Third time: This will result in a C4a detention. Any further forgotten kits in the same half term will also lead to a C4a.
If your child chooses not to borrow a PE kit when offered, they will receive a C4b detention as this means they've missed out on learning. This sanction will be recorded for the next available date.
If your son or daughter can't actively participate in a lesson, please send a note in their planner or email their teacher explaining why. We still ask students to bring their PE kit to change into. This is so they can still be involved in the lesson, perhaps by helping with coaching or officiating. We ask them to change for hygiene purposes and in case the lesson is outside and the weather changes.
You can order new PE kit through
www.trutex.com. Just click 'register' and use our school code: LEA00655SC. If you need any help with this, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Our aim is to ensure all students are focused on learning and participating safely in all PE activities. Having the correct and appropriate uniform plays a crucial role in this, allowing students to move freely, comfortably, and safely, while also promoting a sense of team spirit and belonging.
Thank you for your continued support in upholding our school's standards.
Yours faithfully,
Mike Jepps
Head of PE
