Dear Parents and Carers,
We are aware that it can be difficult to make contact with the academy as a result of our busy phone lines. This letter provides key contact information and guidelines for communicating with the academy.

Conduct when contacting the academy
We understand that people can occasionally become frustrated when, despite working to resolve and support issues, they feel that matters are not being dealt with as they wish. If that frustration escalates into inappropriate behaviour towards our staff, we consider that unacceptable.
Any aggression or abuse directed towards our staff will not be tolerated.
- Aggressive or abusive behaviour includes language (whether verbally, in person, or written) that may cause staff to feel afraid, threatened or abused and may include threats, personal verbal abuse, derogatory remarks and rudeness. The use of swear words in written or verbal communication will not be tolerated and these communications will not be responded to.
- Swearing at members of staff will not be tolerated.
- We also consider inflammatory statements, remarks of a racial or discriminatory nature and unsubstantiated allegations, to be abusive behaviour.
- Staff have been instructed to terminate any telephone calls where the caller displays aggressive or abusive language.
Safeguarding Concerns
If you have a safeguarding concern outside of school hours and believe that a child is in immediate danger or at serious risk of harm, contact the appropriate emergency service immediately using 999, or contact the NSPCC 0808 800 5000. This
leaflet from the NSPCC may be helpful.
I hope that you have a lovely summer and I know that myself and the rest of the staff team are looking forward to seeing all students return in September. Enjoy time with your families and hopefully some sunshine.
Yours faithfully,
Alison McQueen
Principal
