Information for Parents and Carers: Barnsley School Aged Immunisation Service

Fri 09 Jan 2026
The following information has been sent to us by the Nursing Team at the Barnsley School Aged Immunisation Service. Some or all of this information may apply to your child:

  • The school aged immunisation service will be visiting school over the next few months to administer routine vaccinations to Y8 and Y9. Please note, if we still have a consent form for your child from these year groups, we will check if they are still outstanding and continue to follow them up and attempt vaccination until they leave school. It is parents/carers responsibility to notify the team if you do not want your child vaccinating or if there have been any changes.

  • The School Aged Immunisation Service still have a small supply of flu vaccines if they still wish their child to receive it. Children are also welcome to attend for any other vaccines. Please see attachment for details of clinics.

  • 3. A website to help teenagers and parents/carers find out about the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in schools is now available. As well as resources that young people and parents/Carers can access directly.
