Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to you regarding the upcoming Year 11 final exams, the culmination of 11 years of education for our students, and a critical opportunity for them to make their hard work count.
To support your child in being extraordinary during this period, we encourage you to help them focus on "Controlling the Controllables":
- Ensure they use their revision strategies and resources.
- Help them get a good night's sleep.
- Ensure they have breakfast before coming to school.
- Help them be organised and equipped for each exam.
We have several important opportunities available, and we require 100% attendance and engagement from students in both the Expert-led, online revision sessions and resources, and the Exam Masterclasses linked to their upcoming exams.
On the Day Logistics:
Students should arrive on time, as the doors open just before 8:00 am. A free drink and breakfast will be available. They will move to the lecture theatre from 8:20 am and then to the exam hall by 8:40 am, with all morning exams starting at 9:00 am.
For afternoon sessions, students have lunch from 12:25 pm to 12:55 pm and must report immediately to the Lecture Theatre before moving to the exam hall for afternoon exams. Afternoon exams start at 1:30 pm, please look with your child at any exams they are sitting which finish after our normal 2:55 pm finish time and make arrangements for leaving the site. Students must stay in their exam room for the duration of the exam.
Exam Rules and Expectations:
It is crucial that students adhere to all expectations for exam briefings and exams. Students who do not follow exam guidelines during briefings may not be permitted to sit the exam. We expect silence and focus throughout the delivery of all exam briefings.
JCQ student violations of examination rules (malpractice) can lead to severe penalties, including disqualification from all subjects in that series, due to breaches like possessing prohibited items, cheating, or disrupting exams.
We want to reinforce our expectations for all students to Be respectful, Be responsible, Be extraordinary, and Be safe.
Finally, we want to look forward to celebrating their achievements with them when they collect their results on 20 August 2026. More information about the collection of results will follow in a separate letter.
Thank you for your continued support.
We are so proud of our Y11 and we wish them every success.
They are ready!
Yours faithfully,
Alison McQueen
Principal
