Letter to Parents and Carers: Academy Expectations During Exam Season

Thu 07 May 2026
Dear Parents and Guardians,

As our Year 11 students enter their final exam period, we are writing to reinforce the key expectations and guidance shared with our students in preparation for this critical time. This moment represents the culmination of 11 years of dedication, and it is a vital opportunity for them to truly "make it count".

These exams will be followed by essential Y10 exams as they step up into Y11.

To ensure an optimal and focused environment for all students during this period, we are emphasising our core school values: Be respectful, Be responsible, Be extraordinary, and Be safe.

We are asking students to "Control the controllables" and exhibit extraordinary conduct by:

  • Maintaining quiet and calm in corridors, especially during movement times, to support students who are still learning or testing.
  • Ensure corridors are student free during lesson times.
  • Demonstrate respectful behaviour during social times and avoid shouting or any anti-social behaviours.
  • Remain silent near the PE area and keep away from the sports hall.

Your support in reinforcing these expectations at home is invaluable as we strive to maintain a focused and calm atmosphere.

We have immense faith in their ability to "step up" and succeed.

Together, let us wish our Y11 well for their exams and our Y10  students well as they take the first step towards Y11.

Yours faithfully,
Alison McQueen
